For the past 30 years of my life as an artist I have been inspired by both ancient Egyptian art and Japanese art. Prior to becoming a painter I had training, and spent 10 years working in textiles, primarily weaving. A textured ground is one of my most favorite grounds to paint on. Papyrus has both a woven appearance, and a neutral color on which to paint. The painting media is watercolor with some Egg Tempera, particularly in areas that are white.
